High ReliabilityALAXALA Ring
ALAXALA Ring is a layer 2 network redundancy protocol, which performs fast switchover upon detecting failures in a network where switches are connected using ring topology.
The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) can be generally used as a layer 2 network redundancy, but suffers from shortcomings such as slow convergence for path switching. ALAXALA Ring achieves faster switchover (within 50 milliseconds). In addition, it has the advantage of using fewer cables and interfaces than the star-topology network that is often used with STP.
