22.2.2 Configuration flow

<Structure of this section>

(1) Configuring Unicast Transmission Through IPv6 DHCP Relay

  1. Use the swrt_table_resource command to enable IPv6.

  2. Set an interface for a client.

  3. Set interfaces for relaying packets to IPv6 DHCP servers.

  4. Disables the IPv6 DHCP server on the Switch.

  5. Use the ipv6 dhcp relay destination command to set the addresses of the relay destination IPv6 DHCP servers.

  6. Set the maximum hop count.

  7. Configure the automatic generation of routes to the clients to which prefixes are distributed.

(2) Configuring Multicast Transmission Through IPv6 DHCP Relay

  1. Use the swrt_table_resource command to enable IPv6.

  2. Set an interface for a client.

  3. Set interfaces for relaying packets to IPv6 DHCP servers.

  4. Disables the IPv6 DHCP server on the Switch.

  5. Use the ipv6 dhcp relay destination command to set the interface for the destination IPv6 DHCP servers.

  6. Set the maximum hop count.

  7. Configure the automatic generation of routes to the clients to which prefixes are distributed.

(3) Setting Up More Than One IPv6 DHCP Relay

(a) Setting on the Switch A side

  1. Use the swrt_table_resource command to enable IPv6.

  2. Set an interface for a client.

  3. Set interfaces for relaying packets to IPv6 DHCP servers.

  4. Disables the IPv6 DHCP server on the Switch.

  5. Use the ipv6 dhcp relay destination command to set the address of the relay destination Switch B.

  6. Set the maximum hop count.

  7. Configure the automatic generation of routes to the clients to which prefixes are distributed.

(b) Setting of this machine B side

  1. Use the swrt_table_resource command to enable IPv6.

  2. Set an interface for a client.

  3. Set interfaces for relaying packets to IPv6 DHCP servers.

  4. Disables the IPv6 DHCP server on the Switch.

  5. Use the ipv6 dhcp relay destination command to set the addresses of the relay destination IPv6 DHCP servers.

  6. Set the maximum hop count.
