17.1.1 Overview of IPv4 Multicast Route Filtering

IPv4 multicast route filtering controls routes by filtering IPv4 multicast routes. This function is used only for IPv4 multicast extranets.

(1) IPv4 multicast extranet route filtering

To achieve IPv4 multicast extranets, you must pass forwarding requestsbetween VRF. The Switch uses a method for exchanging forwarding requests between VRF routing protocols. IPv4 multicast extranet route filtering filters forwarding requests between VRF routing protocols. This feature enables you to control whether forwarding requests are accepted between VRF for each destination IP for multicast packets. IPv4 multicast routing protocol refers to the unicast extranet routing information for the source IP address, so it follows the unicast extranet path filter.

If route filtering is not set for IPv4 multicast extranet, all forwarding requests between VRF are discarded.
