14.4 Notes on saving to Internal flash memory

The Switch uses the built-in flash memory to store device information, such as software, configuration, and log information.

Due to the general characteristics of the device, the on-chip flash memory has an upper limit on the number of rewrites. If the number of rewrites exceeds that number, the internal flash memory may be damaged.

The timing for writing to the internal flash memory of the Switch is when the configuration is saved and some operation commands are executed on the Switch. If these operations are continued at 30-minute intervals, the write limit may be reached in about 6 years.
