16.1.2 How the Switch communicates with AX-Network-Manager

To communicate with AX-Network-Manager with zero-touch provisioning, the device IP address and the file-retrieval process from the servers are required. These operations are executed automatically by this function.

<Structure of this section>

(1) Get Device IP Addresses

  1. Only VLAN dedicated to zero-touch provisioning can communicate when the appliance starts. In other VLAN, all communication is discarded. In the default settings, VLAN 1 (default VLAN) is dedicated to this function.

  2. Zero-touch provisioning of the Switch acquires the device IP addressused exclusively for this function from AX-Network-Manager(DHCP servers.

  3. Obtain IP and filename of TFTP servers from which you want to retrieve backup files.

(2) Retrieving and Restoring Backup Files

  1. TFTP client function of the Switch connects to AX-Network-Manager(TFTP server with IP of the acquired TFTP server and obtains a backup file.

  2. Saves the backup file and restarts the device when there is a difference between the acquired device information and the device information of the Switch.
