8.1.12 Restarting the Stack

If you have added or removed an optional license, or edited a configuration that requires a reboot of the appliance or VLAN programme, you must reboot the stackfor the changes to take effect correctly.

To restart the stack, restart all member switches that make up the stack. The following procedure shows how to restart the stack. Please restart all member switches within 30 seconds after the first member switch has been restarted.

1. Log in to the master switch.

2. Execute enable commandto switch to administrator mode.

3. Run show switch commandto see which member switches are currently running.

   The following example assumes that the following execution results are displayed: Here, you can see that the master switch with switch number 1 and the member switch with switch number 2 are running.

   # show switch

4. Restarts a member switch other than the master switch.

   The reboot starts with a member switch other than the master switch.

   In this example, since there is a member switch with switch number 2 in addition to the master switch, execute the following command.

   # reload switch 2 no-dump-image -f

5. Restart the master switch by running the following command:

   Execute the following command within 30 seconds after the first member switch is rebooted and before the master switch is rebooted.

   # reload no-dump-image -f
