8.1.11 Connection between master switch and member switch

You can use session commands to connect to different member switches. The following example shows how to connect to the master switch and edit the configuration after logging in to the backup switch when switch number 1 is the master switch and switch number 2 is the backup switch.

(config)#                        ..4

1. From the backup switch, execute session command with switch number 1 to connect to the master switch (switch number 1).

2. Execute enable commandon the connected master switch to enter administrator mode.

3. Execute configure command to enter the configuration command mode.

4. Start editing.
