13.1.3 Operation procedure using MC operation mode
MC operation mode can be used for equipment maintenance tasks such as system installation, configuration changes, and device replacement. In such a case, use the following procedure.

(1) Time of system introduction

Formats MC.
Insert MC into the Switch and execute the operation-command format mc.

Sets MC operation.
Execute the operation-command set mc-configuration.

After the system is constructed, the software/device information of the respective devices is saved in MC.
Execute the operation-command update mc-configuration.

Operation is performed with MC inserted.
(2) When the system configuration is changed

After rebuilding the system, save the software/device information of the respective devices to MC.
Execute the operation-command update mc-configuration.
(3) When replacing the equipment

Prepare a new device.

Set MC operating mode for the new device.
Execute the operation-command set mc-configuration.

Turn OFF the power to the new unit.

Insert MC containing the device software/device information prior to replacement into the new device.

Turn ON the power to the new unit.
(4) When creating a spare MC

Prepare a new MC.

Make sure that MC is not being accessed, and then remove MC that is running.

Insert the new MC into the corresponding device.
The instrument's software and device info are stored collectively in MC.
