3.5.4 Maximum number of remote devices
Indicates the maximum number of remote devices that the Switch connects to. Remote devices here include terminals as well as routers.

(1) ARP entries
In IPv4, ARP determines the hardware address corresponding to the destination address of the packet to be sent. Therefore, the maximum number of remote devices is determined by the number of ARP entries.
ARP entries can be learned dynamically or statically specified by configuration.

(2) NDP entries
In IPv6, NDP determines the hardware address corresponding to the destination address of the packet to be sent. Thus, the number of NDP entries determines the maximum number of remote devices.
NDP entries can be learned dynamically or statically specified by configuration.
