11.4.2 Configuration flow

(1) Configuring NBMA Interfaces

  1. Set up the IP interfaces in advance.

  2. Configure the basic OSPF functionality.

    Perform the required setup including enabling OSPF.

    For more information, see Configuring Basic 11.2 OSPF Functions.

  3. Configure the interface.

    Use the ip ospf network command to set NBMA as the network type.

    You can change parameters, such as the sending interval for hello packets, as required.

  4. Use the neighbor command to specify the neighboring routers.

(2) Broadcast Interface Setting Procedure

  1. Set up the IP interfaces in advance.

  2. Configure the basic OSPF functionality.

    Perform the required setup including enabling OSPF.

  3. Configure the interface.
