5.2.1 List of configuration commands

The following table lists the commands used to configure DHCP/BOOTP relay agent.

Command name

ip bootp-hops

Sets the threshold for the number of hops.

ip helper-address

Sets the address of the destination to which the DHCP relay agent forwards packets. [5.2.2 The settings in the basic configuration and 5.2.3 Settings in a multihomed configuration are used to set IP address of DHCP/BOOTP server as a helper address.

ip relay-agent-address

Sets the address of the relay agent interface to which a DHCP/BOOTP client connects (giaddr). [5.2.3 Settings in a multihomed configuration is used to set IP address of Network A as the relay agent address.
