Configuration Guide Vol. 2

24.1.3 Notes on using LLDP

<Structure of this section>

(1) Coexistence with Layer 2 Switch Function

See "Configuration Guide: Coexistence of Vol.1" "22.3 Layer 2 Switch Function and Other Functions".

(2) When another device that does not support this function is connected between the devices for which this function is set

If using a configuration described below, it is difficult to know the exact status of the connection between neighboring devices for the following reasons:

(3) Maximum number of neighboring devices

If the maximum capacity of a neighboring device is exceeded, the received distribution information is discarded. Note that the discarding of information is suppressed for a period of time to provide time within which the retention of saved information might time out. Note, however, that the maximum suppression time is the retention time for the neighboring device information to be discarded.

(4) Compatibility with VRF functions [SL-L3A]

When the VRF functionality is enabled for VLANs, the IP addresses set to the VLANs are not distributed.

(5) About Stack Configuration

When the master switch is switched in the stack configuration, the neighboring device information is cleared. After that, relearning is performed by receiving LLDPDU from the neighboring device.
