23.1.2 Support Specifications
- <Structure of this section>
(1) LLDP standard that can be connected
The Switch supports the following two standards:
-
IEEE Std 802.1AB-2009
The Switch can receive LLDPDU only when the destination MAC is "01:80:C2:00:00:0E".
-
IEEE 802.1AB Draft 6
By default, it runs in IEEE Std 802.1AB-2009 and sends a IEEE 802.1AB Draft 6's LLDPDU from a port that receives only IEEE 802.1AB Draft 6's LLDPDU. You can also connect a IEEE Std 802.1AB-2005. The following tables show the relationship between the receive LLDPDU and transmit LLDPDU for each standard.

The following are the sending and reception conditions for Chassis ID:
-
Send: The only type of subtype to send is MAC address. The value that will be sent is the device MAC address. In the stack configuration, the device MAC of the stack is used.
-
Reception: Port ID with any subtype can be received.
-
Maximum length of received data: 255 octets
(b) Port ID (port-identifier)
Port ID is information that identifies the port. This information has a subtype, and the value to be sent changes according to the subtype. The following table describes subtypes and the values to be sent.

The following are the sending and reception conditions for Port ID:
-
Send: The only type of subtype to send is MAC address. The value that will be sent is the MAC address of the port.
-
Reception: Port ID with any subtype can be received.
-
Maximum length of received data: 255 octets
(c) Time-to-Live (hold time of data)
Time-to-Live indicates how long the destination device will retain the distributed information.
Although you can change the retention time in configuration mode, we recommend that you do not change the initial value.
(d) Port description (port type)
Port Description is information that indicates the type of the port. This information does not have a subtype.
The following are the sending and reception conditions for System Description:
-
Value to be sent: The same value as ifDescr of the Interface MIB
-
Maximum length of received data: 255 octets
(e) System name (device name)
System Name is information that indicates the name of the device. This information does not have a subtype.
The following are the sending and reception conditions for System Description:
-
Value to be sent: The same value as sysName of the System MIB
-
Maximum length of received data: 255 octets
(f) System description (device type)
System Description is information that indicates the type of the device. This information does not have a subtype.
The following are the sending and reception conditions for System Description:
-
Value to be sent: The same value as sysDescr of the System MIB
When stacking, sysDescr of the master switch is used.
-
Maximum length of received data: 255 octets
(g) System Capabilities (machine functions)
This information identifies the available functions and the effective functions. The presence or absence of subtype varies depending on the standard.
- IEEE Std 802.1AB-2009
-
Subtype is defined and chassis ID subtype is used for subtype.
- IEEE Std 802.1AB-2005
-
There is no subtype.
The content to be sent and the reception conditions for System Capabilities are as follows.
-
Sending
Send using IEEE Std 802.1AB-2005 standard. The following tables show the content sent by System Capabilities TLV.

(h) Management Address (Admin)
Identifies the device's IP address or MAC address. This information has a subtype, and the value to be sent changes according to the subtype.
The content to be sent and the reception conditions for Management Address are as follows.

(i) Organizationally-defined TLV extensions
The Switch supports the following information:
-
VLAN ID
VLAN ID indicates the VLAN tag used by the port. If the tag translation functionality is used, VLAN ID indicates the VLAN ID after translation. Note that VLAN ID is information that is effective on only trunk ports.
-
VLAN Address
This information indicates one of IP addresses of VLAN for which IP addresses are set on the applicable port, along with the smallest VLAN ID.
(j) IEEE802.1 Organizationally Specific TLVs
The Switch supports the following information:
-
Port VLAN ID
Indicates the port VLAN of the port.
For an access port, sends VLAN ID of the corresponding port VLAN. If not an access port, sends a VLAN ID of the native VLAN when the native VLAN is enabled. The maximum receive data length is 6 octets.
-
Port And Protocol VLAN ID
Indicates the protocol VLAN of the corresponding port.
For a protocol port, sends VLAN ID of the corresponding protocol VLAN. VLAN ID to be sent is up-to-date. If the protocol VLAN is not set, the protocol VLAN data is not sent. The maximum receive data length is 7 octets.
-
VLAN Name
Indicates the port VLAN of the port.
For an access port, sends VLAN ID of the corresponding port VLAN. For trunked ports, sends VLAN ID of VLAN Tag. When the native VLAN is enabled, VLAN ID of the native VLAN is sent as well. For ports other than access ports and trunk ports, sends VLAN ID for the various ports. When the native VLAN is enabled, VLAN ID of the native VLAN is sent as well.
VLAN ID to be sent is up-to-date. If Tag translation is used, VLAN ID after translation is sent. If VLAN tunneling function is used, VLAN ID of VLAN Tag attached by VLAN tunneling function is sent. The maximum receive data length is 39 octets.
