32.4.3 Connection with the multicast router

(1) Configuring Multicast Router Ports
Multicast packets must be forwarded not only to the receiver but also to neighboring multicast routers. Therefore, when the Switch is connected to a multicast router and a MLD snooping is used, in order to forward multicast packets to the multicast router, the port that connects to the multicast router (hereafter referred to as the multicast router port) is set in the configuration.
(2) Relaying MLD Messaging
MLD messages are received by multicast routers and receivers because they are sent and received between multicast routers and receivers. The Switch forwards MLD messages as shown in the following tables.
