22.3.1 Assigning Power to Ports
This equipment automatically detects the power receiving equipment and supplies power by classifying the power class required by the power receiving equipment. The table below lists the power classes and maximum output power when the Switch classifies power receiving devices.
Note that the power class classification is optional in IEEE802.3af standard. If the powered device does not support the following power classifications, it is classified as Class0:
Power class |
Maximum output power |
---|---|
Class0 |
15.4 watts |
Class1 |
4.0 watts |
Class2 |
7.0 Watts |
Class3 |
15.4 watts |
Class4 |
30.0 Watts |
You can also set the power to the ports using limit parameter of the configuration command power inline allocation. If the actual power consumption is much smaller than the per-power-class allocation, this setting saves waste.
