The internal flash memory has enough unused space to transfer the update files. #

If the update file cannot be transferred due to insufficient space, secure the required unused space by referring to "(2) Allocating the internal flash memory capacity".

You have the privilege to change to administrator mode using the operation command enable.

To execute the update command, you must change to administrator mode using enable command. Therefore, set the administrator mode privilege.

Update from a remote operation terminal

The Switch must be reachable from the remote operation terminal via the network.

Prepare a remote operation terminal and connect the Switch to the network so that IP communication can be performed with the Switch.

Ftp client software runs at the remote operation terminal, and the Switch can write (put) files.

Prepare ftp client software and install it on the remote operation terminal. Note that Windows can use ftp provided with OS.

The Switch permits remote access using ftp protocol from a remote operation terminal.

Set ftp-server of the configuration command. If an access list is specified in config-line mode (line vty), configure the settings to allow access from remote operation terminals.

A remote operation terminal must be able to log in to the Switch.

When logging in as a telnet from a remote operation terminal, use the configuration command line vty to enable remote access using telnet protocol.

MC update

The user must be able to log in to the Switch from the console.

Connect the console to the server.

Make the communication software available on the console.

#

Use the operation-command show system to check that the user area (user area) of the on-chip flash memory contains at least the following unused space (free):

Update file size +10MB

(2) How to secure the internal flash memory capacity

If the internal flash memory capacity is insufficient, use the following method to allocate unused capacity.
