7.7.1 Prohibited stack configurations

(1) Number of member switches
Up to two member switches can be configured in a stack.
You cannot configure a stack with more than two member switches. Also, do not connect two different member switches to a single member switch using stacking ports.
(2) Stack link
Connect the stack link directly on the line. Do not connect any other network device between the stacking ports that connect the two member switches. If a network device such as a Layer 2 switch, hub, or media converter is connected to a stack port, stack operation cannot be guaranteed.
