4.1.1 Connection form of the operation terminal

Connect the console to the serial port (CONSOLE) on the Switch. The remote operation terminal can be connected in the following ways:

Form of connection from IP network to which the communication port connects

(1) Serial connection port (CONSOLE)

Connect the console to the serial connection port (CONSOLE). Because you can log in through this port even if you have not set the configuration, you can log in from this port and perform initial settings during initial installation.

(2) Communication port

You can log in to the Switch from a remote operation terminal or use SNMP Manager to manage the network through the communication port. To log in to the Switch using a telnet,ssh,ftp or other means, you must configure IP addressing and remote access settings in the Switch configuration.
