Configuration Guide Vol. 1

25.7.2 Notes on using the inter-port relay blocking functionality

<Structure of this section>

(1) Coexistence with other functions

See "22.3 Coexistence of Layer 2 switch function and other functions"

(2) Blocking between ports for which more than one VLAN is set for a port

The port-to-port forwarding blocking functionality blocks all Layer 2 forwarding communications in VLAN.

(3) Notes on using Spanning Tree Protocols simultaneously

When a Spanning Tree Protocol is run on a port that is blocking communication, communication might no longer be possible, depending on the topology.

(4) Frames that are not blocked by the port-to-port relay blocking function

The inter-port forwarding block function blocks only frames forwarded by hardware. Frames forwarded by software are not blocked. For details about frames forwarded by software, see 22.3 Coexistence of Layer 2 switch functionality and other functionality.

(5) When a port belonging to a channel group is specified as a port for which forwarding is blocked

Blocks forwarding from all ports that belong to the same group as the channel group to which the specified port belongs.
