16.1.2 Power saving functionality
- <Structure of this section>
(1) EEE function
EEE(Energy Efficient Ethernet) is a power saving function standardized by IEEE802.3az. When there is no data transmission/reception, LPI(Low Power Idle) is selected to reduce the power consumption of the Ethernet.
Both the Switch and the remote device must support EEE function. In the auto-negotiation link establishment process, both devices advertise the supported status of EEE function.
The Switch supports EEE feature on the following connected interfaces:
-
100BASE-TX full duplex with auto-negotiation
-
1000BASE-T full duplex with auto-negotiation
However, this does not include the case where SFP port and SFP+/SFP shared port are used for 1000BASE-T.
(2) Powered OFF on Ports
By turning off the power supplied to unused ports, you can reduce power consumption. To turn off the power supply to unused ports:
-
Using a configuration command to shut down a port
