23.1.1 Source MAC address learning

All received frames are subject to MAC address learning, in which the source MAC address is learned and registered in the MAC address table. Registered MAC addresses are kept until an aging timeout occurs. The units learned are VLAN units and VNI units.

MAC address-learning in units of VLAN

MAC address learning is performed in units of VLAN, and MAC address table is managed by pairing of MAC address and VLAN.

MAC address-learning in VNI [SL-L3A]

MAC address learning is performed in units of VNI, and MAC address table is managed by pairing of MAC address and VNI.

Different VLAN, or different VNI can learn the same MAC addressing.
