8.2.7 Setting optional licenses

Here are the steps to add or remove optional licenses in the stack:

If the option licenses do not match between the member switches that make up the stack, the stack cannot be configured. Therefore, if you reboot and apply the option license after adding or removing the option license, restart the master switch within 30 seconds after restarting the backup switch.

1. Log in to the master switch.

2. Execute enable commandto switch to administrator mode.

3. Add or remove optional licenses for the backup switch by specifying the switch number of the backup switch in switch parameter of set license or erase license command.

4. Add or remove an optional license for the master switch.

5. Restart all member switches in the stack for the optional licenses to take effect.
