33.1.3 Configuring IGMP Querier Function

Points to note

If there is no multicast router in VLAN for which IGMP snooping is set, IGMP querier functionality must be enabled. Specify the following settings for the VLAN interface configuration mode for the corresponding VLAN. The following example shows how to enable IGMP querier function in VLAN2.

Command examples

1. (config)# interface vlan 2

   (config-if)# ip igmp snooping querier

   Switches to VLAN interface configuration mode of VLAN2 and enables IGMP querier function.

Notes

This setting is enabled if only if an IPv4 address is set for the corresponding interface.
