22.4.5 Configuring Auto MDI/MDIX Features

The Switch supports the auto MDI/MDIX feature on ports that use twisted pair cables. This functionality can be disabled on the switch. If it is disabled, MDI-X (for hub use) is always selected.

Points to note

When the auto MDI/MDIX function is fixed to MDI-X, set the interfaces to be fixed.

Command examples

1. (config)# interface gigabitethernet 1/0/24

   Switches to the configuration mode of Ethernet interface 1/0/24.

2. (config-if)# no mdix auto

   (config-if)# exit

   Disables the auto MDI/MDIX feature and fixes it to MDI-X.
