Configuration Guide Vol. 1

8.1.7 Restoring to the initial installation configuration

From a stack consisting of a member switch with switch number 1 and switch number 2, return each member switch to its initial configuration. Disconnect from the network before setting up the stack in a single configuration.

Points to note

Delete the startup configuration on each member switch. After deleting, you must restart the device. The procedure is the same for all member switches.

Command examples

  1. # erase startup-config

Deletes the startup configuration of this member switch.

  2. # reload

    Restart the member switch.

For a member switch with switch number 1, it operates as a stand-alone switch with switch number 1 after reboot.

Even for a member switch with switch number 2, since stack enable configuration has been deleted after the switch is restarted, the switch number automatically returns to 1 and operates as a stand-alone switch with switch number 1.
