12.1.1 Overview

Multi-step authentication is a function that permits access only to authorized users using a regular terminal by combining the authentication function to perform two-step authentication: terminal authentication (first-level authentication) and user authentication (second-level authentication). This eliminates unauthorized users and access from unauthorized devices.

The following figure shows an overview of multi-step authentication.
