13.1.1 Overview
Normally, the Switch starts with the internal flash memory software and device information. However, the following operations can be performed using MC operation mode.
- When the Switch starts up

Insert a MC containing the software and device information in advance and start the Switch. The software and device information in MC will be used to start the Switch. If there is a difference between the on-chip flash memory and the data in MC, the on-chip flash memory is updated.
- When inserting a MC during operation

When a MC is inserted during operation, the software/device data is automatically saved to MC in a batch.
- When MC command is executed

When the operation command update mc-configuration is executed, the software/device information is saved in MC in a batch.
When MC operation mode is enabled, the operation command update mc-configuration processing is executed automatically in addition to the operation of the applicable command when the following commands are executed:

When the startup configuration is saved using the configuration command save

When a startup-config file is specified as the copy destination with the operation command copy

When the startup configuration is restored at the time of initial installation using the operation command erase startup-config

When the operation-command ppupdate is executed
